Description
Bestselling author Cheyenne McCray’s Shadow Magic is dark and dangerous. And deeply sensual...
THE SINS OF THE PAST
When Hannah Wentworth temporarily flees her life in San Francisco to join her sister D’Anu witches in Otherworld, she vows to help them conquer the evil bent on destroying the human realm. But the only one who can help her happens to be the king of the Dark Elves. The father to her nemesis, Rhiannon of the D’Anu. And the one man Hannah can never, ever trust...especially because of her dangerous attraction to him.
ARE COMING TO LIGHT…
Garran knows that the beautiful, headstrong Hannah is wary of him for having banished his people to a life underground. But now Garran can right that wrong by helping her and the other gray witches in their dangerous battle in San Francisco—even if doing so means sacrificing the passion he’s found only in Hannah’s arms…
“Cheyenne McCray has created a fabulous new world. You won’t be able to get enough!”

Summary: "4.5 Stars-- A Sexy Paranormal!"
Like the previous books in McCray's Magic Series, Shadow Magic is brimming with love, hot scenes *Really hot-- probably not for the faint of heart, especially since some of the scenes are very graphic and are not between the hero and heroine, but between the evil ones or other minor good characters...Just to warn ya!*, action, suspense, and delicious men. Fighting against evil has never been so good to read!
In between all the action and world saving, the two, Garran and Hannah, create a lot of steam. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, because it wasn't meaningless sex, but something much deeper, even from the beginning. And Garran.. Oh my! Imagine this: black leather pants and boots, a long wicked sword, and chest straps on a very tall and fit man, who happens to have a sexy accent and, oh yeah, did I mention that he is the King of the Dark Elves? Those piercing silver eyes *Shivers*...WOW! He's protective, maybe a bit arrogant at times, but he's also very compassionate with her, almost enough to make you tear up, or at least sigh in pleasure.
Really, for a wonderful combination of a well written paranormal world, filled with action and various creatures, and a very sexy, very passionate love story, Cheyenne McCray is the author to check out! It's better if you read the series in order, but you could probably read them out of order and she still catches you up enough that you are lost. But believe me-- after you read one, you'll be dying to read the next one! I've loved the characters and story from book one, and after each one, I find myself having to choose *or at least try to* which hero is my favorite...It's hard, since all of the main men she puts in the story are irresistible! And if you enjoy these books, like I have, you may also want to check out her other books, including her romantic suspense series starting with Chosen Prey *Loved!*, and her erotica paranormal books *Which I have not read..yet*. You won't be disappointed!
4.5/5 stars! A brilliant combination of lust, love, and action, to name a few, mixed and delivered in a perfect package that will leave you wanting more!

Summary: "Shadow Magic"
D'Anu witch Hannah Wentworth has traveled with her fellow sister witches to Otherworld to seek the help of the Dark Elves in the battle against Ceithlenn and Balor and their desire to destroy the humans of the world. She's not really sure, however, about seeking help from Garran, King of the Dark Elves and father to Rhiannon, Hannah's fellow D'Anu witch and nemesis.
When Hannah sees Garran, however, she's instantly attracted. But can she trust him to help them in their quest to destroy Ceithlenn?
Garran is instantly attracted to the D'Anu witch who comes seeking help. He can see, though, that she won't be easy to win over. After consulting with the Great Guardian, he agrees to help the witches in their battle against evil. There is only one stipulation. Hannah must stay with him at all times.
Hannah agrees and soon finds herself attracted to King Garran. When they travel to San Francisco she discovers he has a special gift, which can help them destroy demons. What Hannah and the others don't know, however, is the gift could cost Garran his life, even as it helps them win the battle.
Shadow Magic is a fantastic installment in the Magic series. Ms. McCray weaves a magical spell over her readers, transporting them to a realm where danger and magic mix to create book that will hold the reader spellbound.
I loved Hannah and her headstrong ways. Her growing love for Garran was delightful to watch. Seeing her go through personal issues, too, with the Dragons who are her totems tugged at my heartstrings.
I could easily see why Hannah would fall for sexy Garran, who is both a fantastic lover and a fearless leader of the Dark Elves. His desire to do what is right in battle, and for his people, endeared him to me.
Ms. McCray's Magic series gets better with each book. Shadow Magic is a keeper, and a book that I will reread, along with the rest of the series.

Summary: "Another Tremendously Stupendous Installment!"
I strongly suggest the previous books in this series (Forbidden Magic, Seduced by Magic and Wicked Magic) be read before tackling this book. I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down. I've been waiting for the day that Garren met his match! Hannah, a D'Anu witch and Garren, the Drow King make a dynamic duo. Garren is brave and honorable; however, he and his people are often misunderstood. Hannah, is strong-willed, intelligent and a warrior in her own right. Ceithlenn set off a destructive chain of events when she successfully opened a door to the Underworld and freed her husband Balor. The witches and warriors are outnumbered and outgunned. The Formorii infiltrate top level positions in the government and have basically taken over running the city. Darkwolf and Junga have enshrouded Balor's eye in Darkwolf's powerful magic, making it virtually undetectable by Balor. Balor without his power is one angry god. Under Ceithlenn's dominion chaos and destruction reign; Garren puts his life and throne on the line attempting to defeat the goddess and get redemption in the eyes of the fae and witches for his people. The story had a flair of predictability, but was nonetheless engrossing and exciting. Two things that bothered me about this novel were how easily and often the D'Dannen and witches accused Garren of double-crossing them and how all characters involved call Ceithlenn "that B*** goddess". It grated on my nerves that Ceith is constantly called the B-word. She's a formidable nemesis, who is tough, merciless and unyielding, not a "B". This story had the same amounts of sex as the previous novels but at the same time there was a lot more development and "story" than the previous books. I would consider this book a hybrid between dark urban fantasy and dark paranormal romance. I highly recommend this book and series to those dark urban fantasy readers who have patience to sift through the many sex scenes to stick with the marvelous plot. To be honest I read more of these scenes than in previous novels. Garren and Hanneh had electrifying passion and chemistry; I just couldn't look away. I also look forward to reading the next book in the series, Dark Magic.
I also recommend:
